This is a limited company registered by guarantee in Uganda with the aim of supporting research programs that are based in Uganda and beyond.
GHC Research Collaboration limited also called the Global Health Collaboratve
Is currently supporting the core Services of Research and Human resource needed by Massachussetts General Hospital Center for Global Health for the programs based at Mbarara Rgional refferal Hospital (MRRH) and Mbarara University of Science and Technoloy (MUST)
Initially focused on the care and treatment of persons living with HIV, the collaboration has grown to include cutting-edge biomedical research, technology innovation, and community-based projects to understand the local social, behavioral and economic barriers to improved health. Now with over programs employing over 100 local staff and a growing expatriate administrative and clinical team, the collaboration is a significant investment in the human resource and programmatic capacity of MUST and MRRH. Active partnerships include community health, high risk obstetrics, renal unit, Pathology, oncology, pediatric nutrition (Natasha), TB , nursing, bio-medical engineering, internal medicine, global medicine residency program and the ISS clinic. The partnership has supported education of 187 masters students in the faculty of medicine .This investment in education has depeened and strengthed local clinical and research capacity.
Core Management Team

Annet Kembabazi, Chief Executive Officer
Annet oversees all collaboration activities and safety and security of GHC staff and collaboration visitors. She holds a bachelors degree of Education where she specialized in Economics and Religious from Makaerere University, a post graduate diploma in Project Planning and Management from Mbarara University of Science and Technolog, a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from Mbarara University of Science and Technology. She trained in coordinating Clinical trials from Floria USA, trained in clinical data management and quality control from San Francisco, and a trainer of trainees in program leadership.
Annet has over 19 years of experience in program management and clinical research coordination in resource limited setting (Mbarara-Uganda) and vast experience working with both national and international collaborators. She believes in local collaboration to bring global impact.

Mary Namukisa, Research and Infrastructure Manager
Mary actively engages in capacity building, overseeing research Management across all program projects, leading community engagement efforts, and strengthening research infrastructure and collaborative partnerships. She holds a Master of Public Health – Research Ethics, a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and is also a certified Clinical Research Associate (CRA). She brings a strong background in clinical care, research implementation and oversight, and ethical review and her research experience spans to infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and social medicine.

Julius Turyasingura, IT Manager
Julius has over 10 years experience in Information Technology management, support, Network design and setup, computer system installations and maintenance. He holds a bachelor of science in computer science degree, a diploma in Secondary Education and a professional certificate in Cisco computer networking Associate (CCNA). He worked at Computer Point Ltd, Kampala-Uganda from 2005-2006 as an IT Technical support Engineer before joining MUST-MGH Global Health Collaborative.
CURRENT SERVICES THAT ARE BEING SUPPORTED BY GHC
Capacity Building
We support trainings on project management including developing of SOPS, quality control, Financial management and proproblem solving
Advocacy and representation: Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to help address and resolve research study and program issues (e.g., administration, implementation, etc.)
Licensure: Assist with administration for securing international medical licenses.
Safety and security: Orient international visitor on safety precautions; serve as liaison with local police.
Event management: Planning and support for supported events.
Leadership and other training: Train nurses and others in leadership training, which required for management of projects
Research and Program Management
Institutional Review Board (IRB) Support: Offer expertise on compliance with Institutional Research Ethics Committes (IREC) and Uganda National Council for Science an Technology and training of Project Coordinators; monitoring for all stages of IRB process for participating studies; and coordinating communication between studies and MUST REC and UNCST.
IT: Maintenance of shared servers and support for other hardware; recommendations for procuringcomputers and IT related equipment; data management; and other technical support.Monitoring: Awareness of day-to-day challenges and ability to troubleshoot before problems escalate.
Research meetings: Facilitate regular meetings for research study staff where research challenges related to implimentation are discussed and solutions are identified
